Dance Party

Sometimes you just want to dance in your kitchen. Lately, we dance all the time. We push the island up against the counter to make space. Margot wiggles her compact little frame as soon as she hears music. Jude watches his reflection in the oven door. Violet MUST be picked up. I often refuse, wanting her to learn to dance her own dance (plus, I selfishly want to dance MY own dance, unencumbered by little bodies).

But sometimes I pick her up and give her a spin,
just to hear her say, "Wheeee!"

  2. What is it with the wee ones wanting to be picked up while dancing? Mine desperately demands to be in arms. But I can't say no, because soon I won't be able to do it.

    Gorgeous picture.

  3. Fun photo! Our daily afternoon dance party tends to be to Christmas music -- all year long.

  4. Wheeeee, indeed! The photo makes me dizzy. We roll our island out of the way for dance parties too! Kitchens make the best family dance floors :-)

  9. That picture is awesome!!

I love to dance with my little one too. We occasionally do the spinning thing (but then I get dizzy and have to sit down)
